Things I'm thinking about
Didn’t have time for a super deep writeup this week. Was disconnected from the world on a short trip with my family.
Spent a lot of time in the sun, playing volleyball and swimming in the ocean. Didn’t wear sunscreen once yet had no sunburn… I’ll attribute that to the wild amount of coffee and olive oil I consume, plus maybe my Indian and Arab roots.
Anyways, I wanted to post on here once a week, so just shipping out a quick update of things I’m spending time on:
Olive Oil Supremecy: “Healthy fats help your entire body, including your skin. Ingesting large amounts of stable fats like animal fats, coconut oil and olive oil will give you resilient skin. Fragile, processed oils like soybean oil, vegetable oil, shortening, hydrogenated oils, corn oil, margarine, sunflower oil and safflower oil will make your skin more sensitive to sun damage.”
Asset Protection - Met this awesome founder at Consensys who is building something called Lightbeam Finance. He suggested to read this book Called “Asset Protection.” Its published by McGraw Hill, and never in a million years would I expect myself to buy whats basically a college assigned reading type book without being forced to… but its been super informative so far. Will likely end up writing something on Lightbeam soon.
The Network State - Balaji’s long awaited book was released on the 4th of July. Its a blueprint for a future kind of “State.” Right now I’m on the part where Balaji is explaining the value of a cryptographically secured network and its role among the previous ruling powers of God and the State. I really liked this quote:
“…we are not arguing that Bitcoin is infallible. We are arguing that it is the best technology yet invented for recording human history …we will likely think of the beginning of cryptographically verifiable history as on par with the beginning of written history millennia ago”
I’ll write a bit about this once I’m finished with the book. But checkout 1729.com if you want to read for yourself!
